6th FEIIC – International Conference on Engineering Education and Research (FICEER-2019), Makkah, Saudi Arabia from November 2 to 5, 2019

The 1st International Conference on Engineering Education (ICEE2009) with Engineering and Technology Education: Challenges of Globalization as its theme, was successfully organised by the Federation of Engineering Institutions of Islamic Countries (FEIIC) in Al-Madinah AlMunawarah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 16-17 May 2009. The conference was jointly organised by the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE), Taibah University and Malaysian Society for Engineering & Technology (MySET). Taibah University, Madinah through the College of Engineering played an important role in making the conference a success. More than 100 delegates attended and presented papers during this inaugural conference, reflecting the experience of their respective institutions. A study tour was arranged by the College of Engineering, University of Taibah to study the cooling system of the Masjid AlNabawi.

The 2nd International Conference on Engineering Education (ICEE2011) with a theme Developing Human Capital in Islamic Countries was successful organised by FEIIC, SCE and MySET at Anwar Madinah Movenpick Hotel, Medinah. Prior to the conference, a meeting on the Engineering Qualification and Professional System (EQAPS) project was held at Umul Qura University, Makkah, which was preceded by a visit to the Islamic Development Bank to discuss on the funding of the project, led by the Deputy Chairman of the Saudi Council of Engineers. A Madinah Declaration on human capital development in Islamic countries was discussed and issue at the end of the conference.

The 3rd International Conference on Engineering Education 2013 (ICEE2013) shall continue the tradition of providing a forum for engineers, technologists, educationists and policy makers to present and discuss their knowledge and research findings in the area of engineering education. Delegates shall have the opportunity to attend keynote addresses, listen to invited speakers and paper presenters and network with experts in the area of engineering and technology education.

The 4th FEIIC – International Conference on Engineering Education & Research 2015 (FICEER2015) with the theme Engineering & Technology Education: Reinstating Soul into Education – Towards Global Competitiveness shall jointly organised by FEIIC, SCE, and MySET on 19-21 December 2015, Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This year, the 5th FEIIC – International Conference on Engineering Education and Research (FICEER) 2017 with its theme on “Engineering – The Future” features on how engineering grows with new challenging insights from everyday science engineering to the limits of the possible and the frontiers of human endeavour in shaping the world. The fundamentals and education in engineering thus compliment the tomorrow’s advances to ensure that an intelligent yet sustainable living could be accomplished, without compromising the quality and balance of life. The conference is jointly organised by the Federation of Engineering Institution of Islamic Countries, the Saudi Council of Engineers and the Malaysian Society for Engineering and Technology on 16 – 18 December 2017 in Madinah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The 6th FEIIC – International Conference on Engineering Education and Research (FICEER) 2019 with a theme Sustainability & Smart Society, shall continue the tradition of providing a forum for engineers, technologists, educationists and policy makers to present and discuss their knowledge and research findings in the area of engineering education. Delegates shall have the opportunity to attend keynote addresses, listen to invited speakers and paper presenters and network with experts in the area of engineering and technology education.
